Highbury Fields school is rated Outstanding by ofsted and its rated one of Highburys best secondary schools. The area has much to offer parents and families who are seeking excellent quality education. Highbury Barn is a quaint parade of cafes and shops popular with the locals of N5. La Fromagerie provides a vast selection of the finest local cheeses and wines Highbury has to offer. Godfreys local butchers has been based in Highbury for decades selling the finest quality cuts of meat, where there is often a queue outside! Mrs Lovells green grocers is also a very popular spot, a family run business selling fresh fruit and vegetables as well as flowers and plants.
Set on the cusp of Highbury & Stoke Newington next to Clissold Park, The Clissold Park Tavern serves up wood fired Pizzas as well as a selection of craft gins and beers. The Highbury Barn Tavern offers homemade food as well as a friendly service, with a fantastic outside area perfect for a summer drink. The Bank of friendship is the perfect place for a winter ale by one of their fires or a craft beer in their sunny garden, also known for showing major sporting events.
Highbury Fields is a large open space perfect for a family picnic or a space to walk your dog. One of Islington’s few open spaces that allows the use of barbeques. Gillespie Park is a local nature reserve and home to The Ecology Centre, where you can explore a large variety of plants and catch a glimpse of rare butterfly and bird species.
